My two girls finish school at different times, my eldest finishes half an hour after my youngest. We are very lucky to have our school in the middle of a green belt of Trees and a little park. Yesterday as I waited for my eldest to finish school. I got out my beach chair and placed it under a tree in the sun light, with "Raspy". A relaxing light breeze blew and started to knit without thinking. I was just day dreaming and my hands and needles worked efficiently, finding the stitches and knitting across the row as I starred into space. It was such a relaxing moment. Sort of meditative. A great feeling. It was my moment. I love knitting!!!
I'm not enjoying the "wait", for the yarn that I ordered for "the" Rebecca cardigan. I keep checking the mail daily. Just bills, ugh! When is the "fun" stuff going to be delivered? I wish it would just show up! So, while I "wait" I have gone back to knitting the Rowan denim sweater. But, I'm just not enjoying my fingers staining denim blue after knitting just one row. I look at it twice now, before I pick it up to knit. AND I don't have any socks to knit. Well, I did start a pair on the plane back from NYC. I made a swatch and somehow I miscalculated the gauge and in the tight squeeze of the plane I was soo engrossed in my knitting, looking at the pattern all pleased with myself that I was doing so well! Well, when I got home and really looked at it. I couldn't believe that the sock was in miniature. There was no way I was going to get it on my foot let alone my calf! I don't know what I was thinking? 5 hours of knitting for what? It may fit my daughter, but I'm just upset with the socks too. So I'm a little crazed, I just want my cardi yarn. Then, and only then will I be truly happy :-)
This is what I love so much about SockapalOOza. I always get so caught up in the socks I am giving. What pattern, what yarn etc. That I totally forget that I will receive socks too. Look what came in the mail.
Aren't they beautiful. I love the color and the pattern.
Jess tells me the patten is Amelia's "Elfina's Socks" Jess also hand dyed the knitpicks yarn herself. They are just gorgeous! Thank you so much Jess the socks are awesome!!
I finished the sockapalOOza socks on the shuttle between New Jersey and JFK airport. We were on our way home to Sunny California after a very fun few days in NYC. (And guess what I didn't even make it to one yarn store!) Well anyway I hope my pal likes them they have many a tale to tell. They crossed the states from LAX to JFK and back again. As well as the fun I had designing them, they met many people along the way. Oh and the almost running out of yarn panic. They have been laundered and wrapped...well all in all they end with a happy thoughts.
Yes its true ~ Dreams do come true! I found a copy of THE Rebecca magazine number 22 this is the perfect Birthday Gift. I'm so excited (about the magazine) NOT my Birthday (grin). I've already ordered the yarn. Oh, I just I cannot wait to start knitting this cardigan :-)
